For many, an urban vacation may not be the best idea because of a number of things. Pollution, huge traffic issues, fast-paced life, are only some of the reasons why most people tend to stay away from an urban metropolis unless absolutely necessary. For us, however, it is an entirely different story because just last October to December of 2017, we did have a vacation in an urban metropolis.

Let me tell you why we loved it.

First, we stayed in this beautiful and comfortable condo rising up 43 storeys from the ground. That means we enjoy a lot of fresh air like you would in a low-level mountain, not to mention the cool natural air during nighttime. It's like our perfect home away from home, devoid of man-made noises, except for the occasional roar of an airplane, a peaceful piece of space we have always wanted.

Second, the majestic view of the sunrise is absolutely stunning! Since we live high up from the ground, we are the first to witness as the sun gently awakens and slowly creeps from behind glorious mountains with their snowcapped tips. It's always a pleasure to wake up at five in the morning, wrap ourselves in thick blankets on top of our jackets and sweaters to protect against the biting cold, and watch in amazement as the rays of the sun paint the sky in different colors.

Third, since there are a few people living on our floor, we seldom hear noises in the corridor. oh well except on rare occasions where a child may have been scolded by her mother which made her bawl out loud outside their unit, which almost took our sanity away. On the overall, everything was relatively peaceful and quiet, even during daytime. Perhaps the sound did not travel high enough to reach where we live during that time.

Fourth, it’s the convenience of living near convenience and grocery stores at ground level. If you need something even in the middle of the night and you can’t find it anywhere inside your condo unit, all you need is to get inside the elevator, go down to the ground level, buy your stuff and get inside the elevator again to go home to your unit upstairs. One more surprising thing is that the surroundings and atmosphere is very safe, something you don’t find often enough back home.

Fifth, our unit is equipped with a heater/air-conditioner, allowing us residents to set it at heater mode during cold season and air-conditioning mode during summer. It’s very comfortable and convenient and you would not want anything more in terms of indoor temperature control.

Sixth, our space-age kitchen! This feature made us fight over who will cook for the day because of modern-day conveniences that our kitchen offer. From induction cooking panels to marble countertops, it is a modern-day chef’s dream kitchen.

Seventh, free wifi and smart TV! What do you do when you are too lazy to get out? You surf through thousands of channels on your smart TV and thank the free wifi for allowing you to do so. Need we say more?

Eighth, the toilet and shower room is likewise space-age with their hot and cold tubs that relaxes your body after a grueling day of watching TV. Hehe. The highly pressurized water is so convenient that there are two things you would want to make your favorite task each day, lying on a couch while watching TV and likewise lying inside the tub while allowing hot water to envelope your entire body. Sounds like Juan Tamad, right? Well, you should allow yourself to be such occasionally just to pamper your body and soul.

There are many other reasons why our urban trip prove to be more rewarding compared to other vacations but then it would take another day to write about it so that’s all for now folks! See you again next time!
